Level One (Observation)
What was you favorite scene, character, moment, etc… Why?
Describe the 3 driving factions of people in the movie? What do they want?
Level Two (Abstraction)
Why do the “normal” people fear the mutants? Is this a bad thing? (Power corrupts)
Are the mutants still responsible for their actions even if they could not control them, like Nightcrawler at the beginning of the film?
How do the mutants deal with their persecution (past, and present)?
Nightcrawler: You know, outside the circus, most people were afraid of me. But I didn’t hate them. I pitied them. Do you know why? Because most people will never know anything beyond what they see with their own two eyes.
Storm: Well, I gave up on pity a long time ago.
Nightcrawler: Someone so beautiful should not be so angry.
Storm: Sometimes anger can help you survive.
Nightcrawler: So can faith.
Level Three (Personalization)
Who had the better point of view Professor X or Magneto? They both seemed to have problems with their theories, X’s ideology did not seem to really have an effect (plus why are most of the mutant powers combative)?
Choices the characters make in the film, were they the right ones (why, why not?) Jean Grey, Pyro, the President, others
Does the killing, maiming, (etc…) of the guards/ normals in the movie prove the point that they are making (mutants are bad). Is self-defense an excuse for that kind of actions?
